Pastoral care

We help our students develop into healthy, fulfilled and resilient people.  We put the resources in place to ensure they feel safe and enjoy their time at Redhill High School.

We also want to encourage them to care for each other and to act thoughtfully and compassionately.

We ensure that pupils receive both support and guidance. Each pupil has a personal Tutor who knows and supports the pupil throughout his or her time at Redhill High School.

The tutors are themselves supported by a number of personal counsellors who engage with students on a 1-to-1 basis when required.  Counsellors, in turn, work closely with the Academic progress leader to ensure that academic rigour goes hand in hand with well-being.

Underpinning our care of pupils is a set of shared values: we have clear rules about behaviour and classroom work and we make it clear that bullying in any form is unacceptable. Those values are made explicit in our school policies on Safeguarding and Anti-Bullying.

Students will easily find the bully-button in the well-being section of the website.

The school also has procedures in place relating to issues such as pupil safety on school visits, behaviour, rewards and sanctions, complaints procedures and general health and safety concerns.
