Science
At Redhill High School Pembrokeshire, science is at the heart of our curriculum. We believe in fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking through a strong and broad scientific education. From Year 7 to Year 9, students study separate sciences — Biology, Chemistry, and Physics — taught as distinct subjects by specialist teachers. This approach allows students to build a secure understanding of key scientific principles while developing practical and analytical skills through regular hands-on laboratory work.
At GCSE, students follow the OCR specification, enabling them to study each of the three sciences in depth and gain recognised qualifications in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This rigorous and well-balanced programme ensures students are fully prepared for post-16 study.
At A Level, Redhill offers WJEC specifications in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. These courses provide challenging and stimulating content, combining theoretical knowledge with a strong focus on experimental skills, data analysis, and scientific inquiry. Across all key stages, the Science Department emphasises independent thinking, real-world application, and enthusiasm for discovery, helping students develop both academic excellence and a lifelong interest in the sciences.
